Sooo the first time I met with my surgeon, I swear I had tunnel vision… I couldn’t remember half of what he said and I was pretty much just sitting there nodding away like a bobble head. lol.
Russel on the other hand, at our first appointment asked 50 questions and can remember everything word for word!!
So this time, I came prepared!! I had my notebook and pen and did tons of visualizing beforehand and made sure I was going to feel way better about it than I did the last time and oh my word did it work!
I must accredit my amazing husband for being the most supportive person in my life and my psychologist, whom I have only recently started going to, but we spend numerous hours getting my head in the right space to handle situations like today!
I had the nicest convo with the surgeon and I asked him about all the options and all the questions that Google told me to ask. And I really feel so comfortable with him, he answered all my silly questions and made me feel like I was in good hands. (It’s his job, I know, but it means a lot to me)
I also had a sonar to make sure I am still cancer free, which I am! PHEW!
I also met with my plastic surgeon for the reconstruction part of this surgery (and yes, we spent most of our day today in the hospital, lol 😉 but it was worth it, because I feel so much more at ease now) … anyways, he gave us a lot to think about but I feel like I have my mind set and feel really confident with my team of surgeons and that everything is going to be OK! 🙂
I will be posting about the options I will be going for in a separate post, but I think that one might be rated PG. (just kidding)
